Kirk was a young man full of spirit who loved traveling and wearing fun socks all around the world. Trekking with Kirk was formed in his memory as a sock collection and donation organization based in Pottstown, PA. Through working with this organization, I learned socks are one of the least donated yet most needed items for the homeless population. For their first year Trekking with Kirk collected enough socks to give every homeless person in Philadelphia a pair. Annie Kitchell, a fellow KUCD student, and I had the pleasure of working with Trekking with Kirk during Designathon, ten hours of design madness to create a logo and identity system for a local non-profit.
